The book "Artificial Intelligence in the Judiciary: Concepts, Applications, Methods, and Tools," authored by Dr. Reza Lashgari, a faculty member at Shahid Beheshti University, and Javad Hassannataj Jeloudari, has been published Novin Technology Press in 122 pages.

Today, artificial intelligence (AI) has become one of the emerging sciences with widespread applications across all dimensions of social, cultural, economic, military, medical, and other industries. Considering the strategic national policies and the emphasis of the Seventh Development Plan, alongside the directives for utilizing emerging AI technologies for national progress and development, the integration of AI in judicial proceedings and the intelligent and timely execution of orders within the judiciary system will significantly enhance the efficiency and speed of justice in achieving social justice and the national vision.

Social injustice is one of the key challenges facing human societies, contributing to instability and moral and security degradation. The judiciary plays a fundamental role in ensuring social justice, and using emerging AI technologies in the judicial system can have a significant impact in achieving this goal. With the increasing global population, one of the main factors slowing down the achievement of social justice in the judiciary is the shortage of experienced judges, slow administrative processes, lack of intelligent oversight in judge rulings, a backlog of unresolved cases, and a growing influx of new cases into the judicial system.

On the other hand, AI lacks an understanding of legal and emotional nuances in judicial proceedings, and because AI algorithms are developed based on human knowledge and reasoning, the final decisions and judicial rulings still require confirmation from human judges. Therefore, AI, when supported by data-driven judicial governance and sustained oversight by judicial experts, can act as a key intelligent assistant in expediting legal proceedings, eliminating corrupt structures, and establishing social justice.

In the first volume of this book, the concepts, applications, methods, and tools of AI in the judiciary are explored. The second volume focuses on the infrastructure and deeper layers of AI technologies in the judicial system.
